Type 1 Summit, Australia’s biggest FREE event for people living with type 1 diabetes (T1D), is back in 2026!Â
Join us live and in person at the National Wine Centre of Australia in Adelaide on Sunday 26 July. (Can’t make it there? Register to watch online instead.)
Here’s what you can expect at this fantastic day out:
- You’ll listen to practical, helpful sessions all about living with T1D, with:
- There’s a special program for kids (5 years+) and teens (12 years+) with T1D – they can make new friends with T1D while taking part in lots of fun activities.
- You can talk to representatives from:
- device companies
- clinical trials
- Type1Screen.
- And you’ll be able to chat with other attendees – locals who also live with T1D – in person!
Lunch and refreshments are included in your ticket, with food restrictions and allergies catered for.
Guests are also invited to join us for our Sundowner Session, at the conclusion of the day, for canapes and beverages (select wine, beer, soft drinks and juices). You can mingle with other local T1D community members and talk with researchers and panellists in a relaxed setting. This optional add-on costs $15 and is strictly for attendees 18 years+.

How much does Type 1 Summit cost to attend?
The Type 1 Summit is completely free to attend, both online and in person.
However, as Breakthrough T1D is a not-for-profit organisation that funds life-changing T1D research, donations are always welcome.
You can also purchase an optional ticket for the Sundowner Session (read more below).
What is the Sundowner Session?
For the first time, guests attending in person can join us for drinks and canapes at the venue at the conclusion of the day. You’ll be able to chat with other members of the T1D community, Breakthrough T1D staff and some of our presenters and panellists in a relaxed setting.
Tickets for this event include beverages (select wine, beer, soft drinks and juices) and canapes. These non-refundable tickets are $15 to help us cover costs.
Parents and carers of kids and teens are welcome to join us, but please note this is strictly an event for adults 18 years +.

Where is the Type 1 Summit?
The Type 1 Summit will be held at the National Wine Centre of Australia, corner of Botanic and Hackney Road, Adelaide.
Registration for parents and carers will be open from 8.15am. The first session begins at 9am.
What time should I arrive? When can I drop off my child?
For parents and carers attending the event, registration will be open from 8.15am. The first session begins at 9am.
For adults, registrations will open at 11:45am. Lunch will be served.
Will food be provided? What's on the menu?
Lunch and refreshments will be provided free of charge to those attending the Adelaide event.
You’re also welcome to bring your own food.
Plus, for the first time, we’re holding a Sundowner Session for adults in attendance in Adelaide. Join us for a chance to connect with locals in the T1D community over drinks and canapes at sunset!
How do I get there?
The National Wine Centre of Australia can be easily reached by buses and trams.
Bus
Adelaide’s City Loop bus drops passengers at the Botanic Gardens East Terrace Entrance, just a few minutes walk from the venue.
Tram
To reach the National Wine Centre by tram, you can take the Botanic Gardens tram line and get off at the Botanic Gardens stop (the last stop on the line).
From there, it’s a short, scenic 5 to 8 minute walk through the Adelaide Botanic Gardens to the venue.
Is there parking at the venue?
There is limited parking available at the National Wine Centre of Australia.
Street parking
There is limited street parking available near the venue:
- First Bay – Hackney Road (1 minute walk to venue)
- Second Bay – Hackney Road, Botanic Park (3 minute walk to venue
- Plane Tree Drive – Botanic Park (3 minute walk to venue)
There is free parking on Sundays.
Car park stations
There are alternative car parking stations nearby, including the Royal Hotel Carpark and Care Park, which charges a $11 flat rate.

Accessible parkingÂ
Two disabled car parks are located at the western end of the venue.
Access is via the driveway on Botanic Road after Bus stop 1, and enter the venue via the Concourse.
